The Make It Real Game
The Real Game
The Be Real Game

Australian editions are available for five of the six editions in The Real Game Series. These are:

  • The Play Real Game – for students aged 8 to 10 (piloted in 2003);
  • The Make It Real Game – for students aged 10 to 12 (piloted in 2001);
  • The Real Game – for students aged 12 to 14 (piloted in 2000, updated 2006);
  • The Be Real Game – for students aged 14 to 16 (piloted in 2001); and
  • The Get Real Game – for students aged 16 to 18 (piloted in 2003).

Each of the kits has been tailored to reflect Australian society and is updated when necessary.

The implementation of The Real Game Series in Australia is a federal government initiative, managed by the federal Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). The Department has established a National Advisory Committee, with representatives from all major educational authorities in each state and territory, to coordinate The Real Game Series in Australia.

The Real Game Series has been very popular with 16.5 percent of Australian government and non-government schools having purchased at least one edition in the Series (many of these schools have multiple editions). Over 250 non-school organisations have also purchased the resource.

A survey of The Real Game (12-14) was completed in 2004 with extremely positive results. A full copy of the final report is available on the Real Game website, www.realgame.gov.au.
